Community Hubs is a small group of believers that agree to help one another with encouragement, support and fellowship. There would be a designated leader(s) who would reach out to one another via monthly text, phone, email and when possible in person. The group can be either all women, men, couples or a mixture of people. The size should be anywhere from 4 to 10 people. Leaders would be willing to give every two months a verbal or written report to LWM on how the people in their group are doing. Leaders, except not withstanding an emergency, would attend the core monthly Zoom meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month and to encourage all the people in their Hubs to do so.
This is one way that Living Waters Ministries is trying to promote closer community in these end times regardless if people are part of a church or not.
In these last days the Bible says that love will grow cold so believers need to understand this and increase in being the hands, feet and heart of Jesus to one another. Loneliness, depression, suicide, mental health issues and suffering of all types are happening in the church world and for the most part we are not addressing these issues.
We say we are a family, a community but do we really know one another? These words carry a great weight and to truly achieve them takes much time and caring. We are constantly saying "that we are busy" but is Jesus too busy for us? The enemy has been able to infiltrate the church world with the "busy" word which has become a blanket excuse for believers not honoring their word or taking the time to show caring and just basic manners to one another. We must realize that we are all in a spiritual battle if we are believers and that if the enemy can't kill us then he wants to stop us from communicating with one another which happens when we are "too busy". An army cannot be effective if they are not communicating with one another so as the "army of God" we cannot be effective for God if we are "too busy" to show true love and respect to one another.
When we leave church service is when church really begins. Who reaches out to us and who do we reach out to in between church attendance? We all need to examine ourselves in this area even leaders. We are all the living stones. The true church is not a building but is made up of the living stones locally, nationally and globally.
The 1st Acts Church had 2 main components:
1) Jew & Gentile met in people's homes weekly. They worshipped, ate, fellowshipped and prayed together. As it says in the Bible "they rejoiced with one another and helped carry each others' burdens" (Romans 12:15, Gal. 6:2). They really knew each other. They were a true family and community.
Do you feel known at your church or wherever you attend? Do you know what your gifts are and are you using them for God's glory?
2) The other main part of the 1st Acts Church was that they sold everything they had to help one another. There is no word in Hebrew for "own". If we are truly saved then we don't own anything i.e our spouse, family, church, money, business, property etc. Our life was bought with a price through the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ. We are passing through this life as stewards of everything until we go to our permanent eternal home in Heaven. We need to examine ourselves in this area.
Remember the poor widow who put in two mites into the treasury. Christ said that this poor widow had put in all the livelihood that she had but the rich out of their abundance put in offerings for God (Luke 21:1-4). God thought so much of her sacrifice to include her in the Bible.
While we understand that because of our modern society, technology etc. church may be different than in the 1st Acts Church era but the heart of God has not changed. He wants His children to know/love Him and to know/love one another. We cannot do that in any real way if we don't spend anytime with one another.
